
Pumpkin Hand Pies

Ingredients

Pastry dough
-
Flour
-
Pumpkin pie filling (or whatever filling you'd like)

Baking spray
-
1 egg
-
Powdered sugar (or whatever toppings you'd like
Instruction​

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees

Spread puff pastry dough over a floured surface
-
Roll out and cut into squares that you will be folding in half to make the pocket

Filling Options:
-
Pumpkin pie filling (this is different from puree - you only make that mistake once)

Nutella
-
Fruit and sugar
-
Jam
-

Dip your finger in water and wet the inside of the dough where you will be sealing the pie

Fill each pastry with the filling and fold them closed

Dip a fork in flour and use it to crimp the edges of each pastry

Dip a knife in flour and cut 3 slits in the top of each pastry
-
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spray with baking spray

In a small bowl, whisk one egg and use a brush to apply the egg wash to the top of each pastry
-
Bake on the greased sheet for 15 minutes

Remove and let the pastries cook

Top the pastries with one or more of the following:

powdered sugar
-
crushed nuts
-
drizzled chocolate
-
a powdered sugar/butter icing
